Thrifty Finds + Life Update
Hey guys! I am so excited about today's post! Before we jump in, I just wanted to give you all a little bit of an update, and say thank you to everyone that has been keeping up with me on my social media sites, my blog page, and for all of the support. Blogging is NOT easy like people make it look, and I have been struggling to post as much as I would like. I have started a new job, and although it is a weekly 8-5 job, I still struggle balancing time with my boys, my womanly girlfriend duties, and my blog. Just bear with me! I will get there eventually and I am so excited that you will be right there with me :)
Today, I am talking about my weekly #thriftyfinds. For 7 years, I worked in resale stores, so I like to think that I have a little bit of a thrifty side. Actually, I know I do! Who doesn't like a good bargain? And cool vintage pieces that VERY FEW people have? I really like shopping for pieces that are different. Different meaning; you can't go and find them at the mall or in your friends closet. Super trendy, unique items that just really catch attention. Items that I wouldn't usually try to pull off. And the reason I look for for those items is because fashion is an art. Just because you typically wouldn't wear it or it doesn't fall under your "genre" doesn't mean you can't rock it and make it your own. That's what makes you different in your own way! I am always striving to be different and to be my own person. I am personally against sticking to ONE genre. Life is too short and the fashion world is too fun to limit yourself. JUST SAYIN :)
This is something I would love to start doing every week and sharing it with all of you! Each week, I am going to try and make a trip to different thrift stores in Jacksonville to prove that you could find cool shit for cheap! There are many different thrift stores in Jacksonville, but I decided to just stick with Goodwill this week because there is one pretty close to where I live, and this was a total spur the moment haul. Here we go!
1. Calvin Klein Top - I started off with this black Calvin Klein long sleeve top. It was $5, but the bottom had a few stains and had a really thick band that made it look like an older style. The sleeves also had these thick bands that made it super tight and uncomfortable. So I actually cut the bottom off and made it into a crop top, as well the sleeves. It made it much more comfy and more of something that I can just lounge around it. Luvvvv it!
2. Gap Jeans - I found these Gap jeans for $3!!! They are a little older but their wash and fit makes them look a little on the vintage side. I freaking wish they were high-waisted (because I would love them a lot more) but they are a mid rise which is still okay. For 3 bucks, you can't beat them apples!
3. Nike Sandals - I am freaking obsessed with these sandals. Confession: I already have the same pair. Oops! But I wear them all the time, especially when I take Jax outside because I can just slip them right on. They also are made out of a soft foam so they are super comfy! So now I have pair that I can beat up a little, and a pair to always keep clean, fresh and looking cute. Its perfect! Oh and they were $7, originally $40 in the store, so sold. To me. Thank you Goodwill.
I know this was a small haul, but it was an evening trip and I was trying to beat rush hour, so I didn't stay too long. Come to Jacksonville and get stuck in traffic, you would feel the same, ugh. Also.... for those of you that don't know, that't my little fur baby to the left :) Ugh, he's so cute! Thanks for reading and make sure to subscribe! Bye loves!
